Do you need an apostille on your certified Divorce Decree?
At National Apostille, Inc., we take the guesswork out of getting an apostille on your documents. Our trained and knowledgeable staff are available Monday – Saturday from 8am to 7pm to answer your questions and provide you easy to follow step-by-step instructions.
Common reasons why you would need to apostille this document are:
- Filing your divorce in another country
- Getting married in another country
The very first step is to contact the Family Court in order to obtain a certified copy. A certified copy will have the real signature of an official of the Court certifying that the copy is a certified true copy. The Clerk of the Court must also print his/her name near the signature so the State can easily verify the official. The certified copy will typically have additional marking including a color stamp, real signature, and a raised seal.
Once you receive these documents, go ahead and mail them in to our office with our apostille order forms. The apostille will be issued from the State the documents originate from. For example, if your divorce was filed in the State of California, then your documents will receive a California Apostille.
Apostilles can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
